Conversation with John 3/5/23

 John called today to share a story about dad.  He said he had gone back to work with Dad after working at Kroll Electric. They left the house and mom had made sandwiches for their lunch. Mom had made John's with mustard and dad's without. When they stopped for lunch they got out their sandwiches and take took a bite. "Oh damn! She put mustard on my sandwich!" John looked at his and it didn't have mustard on it. He told dad they could just switch and he would eat the one with mustard. Then as John was contemplating he asked dad, "Why don't you like mustard?" Dad replied, "Well we had gone down to Campbellton, FL where Granddaddy Davis had a farm for a family get together. We had to leave real early, about 4:00am, so we could get there before lunch. There weren't many roads and they were all dirt roads so it took a long time. When we got there we began to eat. John's Thoughts

 I know this may sound strange, but this morning I woke up, feeling melancholy thinking of the things that we learn as life goes by from our parents to our acquaintance. The little things we learn, and retain in our heads, make us unique and at the same time holding treasures in her head Remembering small tricks for a little task, such as trimming baseboard, working on engines. Planting flowers in a certain way that they had talked ways that mother showed us how to cook happy times sad times and then as time goes by we share these things, and hope that we will be remembered, the different paths we take in our life. We all learn different things, but family above all remains at most in our lives in the hearts. I love everyone of you and hope for the best!❤️

Explorations along the Trail

  Growing up in Wright Florida was the best! One of my best friends growing up along Hurlburt Road was Danny Blackman. For the longest time Danny and I explored all the trails leading off of Hurlburt Road. We always found a new trail to follow into a different area of the woods. Most of the time we were just exploring and to find what we could along the trail. Most of the time is was leaves, mushrooms and an occassional form of wildlife. Such as a bird or possibly a deer if we were lucky. The best was just being out exploring and having a friend with you!  As I think back on our life in this beautiful corner of the world, one of the treasures was living right next door to our Uncle Red and Aunt Virgie. Our homes were always open to one another regardless of the time of day. The cousins were always going in and out of each others houses looking for one another. Red and Virgie had about ten acres and our home had two acres, so we had plenty of room to roam around and fin...
